This week's runningback rankings bring us a list in which almost everything makes sense. And sensibility is a really underrated trait in sports so just take it when it comes around. As a Matt Forte owner in four leagues, I have a good feeling about this week, but the Bears offensively have underachieved against fantastic matchups before. Anyway, here's your RBs:
| Rank | Runningback | Opp | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|
Arian Foster | BUF | Bills allow 145 yards and 2 TDs per game. CJ1K just had 195 on them.
LeSean McCoy | @NO | Saints equally as bad as the Bills and they HAVE to start using him right?
Matt Forte | @TEN | He's a fantasy monster and he really hasn't even had a monster game yet.
Alfred Morris | CAR | He's unbenchable. It doesn't matter what the matchup is now.
Ray Rice | @CLE | He's disappointing this year against bad teams. That changes this week.
Trent Richardson | BAL | Ravens allow 133 yards, 1 TD per game. He had 104 total yards and a TD against them in Week 4.
Willis McGahee | @CIN | Broke 120 last week. Cincy gives up a healthy 100 yards per game.
Adrian Peterson | @SEA | Can't sit him against anyone no matter how good the defense may be.
Ryan Mathews | KC | Chiefs give up the sixth-most fantasy points to RBs. Big game coming.
Reggie Bush | @IND | Could be #1 but Daniel Thomas has been getting a solid load lately.
Doug Martin | @OAK | Oakland gives up 80 rushing and 50 receiving yards per game to RBs.
Marshawn Lynch | MIN | Tough to sit but the Vikings one of the better run defenses.
Darren McFadden | TB | He's disappointed and Tampa's a tough matchup but never sit your studs.
Ahmad Bradshaw | PIT | He really hasn't played well against tougher matchups, but there's always a chance he goes off.
Jamaal Charles | @SD | This Chargers defense is damn good against the run. Only allowing
Darren Sproles | PHI | Tough to gauge since he averages only 5 carries per game but has 3 receiving TDs in his past 4 games.
Rashad Jennings | DET | They've been great but they really limit Gabberts attempts.
Mikel Leshoure | @JAC | He's been running great and this may be the best matchup he's had.
Michael Turner | DAL | Cowboys missing Sean Lee and will devote more coverage to the pass.
Chris Johnson | CHI | Tore up Houston so don't know what to expect against tough matchups.
CJ Spiller | @HOU | Leads the league in yards per carry, maybe he won't be backup for long.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis | DEN | Broncos allow 99 yards per game and will focus more on the pass game.
Fred Jackson | @HOU | Spiller's been a better runner this year but he's still the starter.
Jonathan Stewart | @WSH | Maybe having the timeshare taken away will boost his confidence.
Jonathan Dwyer | @NYG | Much tougher matchup than he's faced but he's been very good thus far.
Felix Jones | @ATL | Murray is likely out again so expect him to be the primary carrier.
LaRod Stephens-Howling | @GB | If the Cardinals could utilize him correctly he'd be a deadly fantasy weapon. His skillset makes an offensive line obsolete. Which is good since he doesn't have one anyway.
Donald Brown | MIA | He's starting but both Ballard and Carter have dug into his workload.
Alex Green | ARI | Not high on him, but with Rodgers wanting to run more, who knows?
Daniel Thomas | @IND | I'm predicting a ton of running for the Fins this week as Tanny heals.
Michael Bush | @TEN | He's embraced the limited role and has been making the most of it.
Pierre Thomas | PHI | He's really the Saints' best RB since Sproles hardly gets carries.
Andre Brown | PIT | Seems to vulture at least three or four goal-line carries per week.
Joique Bell | @JAC | Jaguars are terrible and if all goes well fantasy-wise, the second half will be a lot of running for the Lions.
Vick Ballard | MIA | Clearly isn't the by and far backup now that Brown's back and got the final carry of the game last week.
Jacquizz Rodgers | DAL | Damn good in the screen game and the Falcons love to run screens.
DeAngelo Williams | @WSH | Just got benched, may or may not get traded, fantasy owners already hate him. Maybe a big Eff You game here?
Justin Forsett | BUF | With Ben Tate still dealing with lingering injuries, he becomes the second in line against the worst D.
Phillip Tanner | @ATL | He just doesn't seem to be clicking in ways that are fantasy-productive.
Peyton Hillis | @SD | He's got to get it going at some point here.
Ronnie Hillman | @CIN | Has the speed to break off something big on every carry.
LeGarrette Blount | @OAK | Same comment every week. He gets goal line work. Blah.
Baron Batch | PHI | He's a feisty little guy and has shown terrific upside. Plus it helps when everyone above you is ailing.
Ronnie Brown | KC | Game could quickly get out of hand, maybe Mathews gets some rest?
Delone Carter | MIA | He stole some crucial carries from the top two guys last week so no reason to believe that won't happen again.
Jorvorskie Lane | @IND | Same comment every week. He gets goal line work. Meh.
Montario Hardesty | BAL | They have had to limit the full capacity that they use T-Rich in so he gets a good amount of touches.
William Powell | @GB | Cards are utilizing the Hyphen well so his workload has gone down.
Mike Tolbert | @WSH | Same comment every week. He gets goal line work. Bleh.
Mark Ingram | PHI | Same comment every week. He gets goal line work. Yuck.
