Week 8 Rankings: WRs (aka Everyone Stop Panicking)

Everyone chill. I've had a trillion people ask if it was okay to bench Calvin Johnson. Stop it. Just stop. Right now. You didn't draft the guy in the first round to let him hang out on your bench. Don't be stupid. Even if he puts up a 0 this week. It's okay. You know why? BECAUSE YOU SPENT A FIRST-ROUNDER ON HIM. You always start your studs. So, the moral of the story is...

Everyone chill.
RankReceiverOppComments
Brandon MarshallCARThis year: eighth-most targets, seventh-most receptions, fourth-most redzone targets.
Percy HarvinTBHe's almost 20 total touches ahead of the next WR. Too many opportunities, too many looks.
Larry FitzgeraldSFI know. I'm a homer. BUT in Week 17 against SF last season, he put up 10/190/2. I'm just saying.
Demaryius ThomasNOHe could easily be the top WR this week thanks to the Saints and their AWFUL defense.
Calvin JohnsonSEAHe's still Megatron. Don't be cute. Play him. No matter what. You didn't spend a first-rounder for nothing.
Reggie Wayne@TENTons of targets and he'll have nobody guarding him. Literally.
Julio Jones@PHIAsomugha tends to get burned by big, leaping, jump-ball WRs.
Marques Colston@DENPlenty of looks and it'll be a shootout.
Wes Welker@STLHe won't have Finnegan on him so he'll be golden.
Jordy NelsonJACIF he plays (and that's a large, hamstring-sized IF), he's an automatic start.
Vincent Jackson@MINThursday's haven't been kind to offenses, but after last week, and with no shutdown defender, feel good about it.
Eric DeckerNOWho dat? Really, who dat, because it's not any NFL defenders.
Victor Cruz@DALHard to count out the guy leading the league in targets but these are very good CBs.
Roddy White@PHIHe's very hard to bench and Jones will draw away Asomugha.
Mike WallaceWSHShould be higher, but the few drops last week scare me.
Dwayne BoweOAKOakland's awful and if the Chiefs let Quinn throw at all, it'll be to Bowe.
Antonio BrownWSHThe Redskins give up the most fantasy points to WRs and with Wallace dropping passes, look out for Brown.
Dez BryantNYGHe's really been building chemistry with Romo and the drops will get fixed eventually. Giants secondary stinks, too.
Kenny BrittINDHe's on his way back to fantasy stardom. Trust me.
Miles AustinNYGGiants secondary truly is a piƱata. They're really awful and the rest of the D will probably stop the run.
Josh GordonSDHe paid off in a huge way last week and he'll put up similar numbers this week against a very pass-friendly defense.
Hakeem Nicks@DALIt's tough to sit him but he really only needs one or two plays to be worth playing.
Randall CobbJACHe's in for another huge week because of the way the utilize him PLUS Jordy Nelson may not play.
Denarius Moore@KCHe's the top target for Palmer and the defense isn't very good at all.
Jeremy MaclinATLFalcons defense is very inconsistent so there's a good chance he has a great game.
James JonesJACSimilar to Cobb but not as versatile.
Brandon Lloyd@STLHe'll be the only Patriot weapon with a competent defender on him. He's in store for a rough game.
DeSean JacksonATLSee: Maclin, Jeremy.
Lance Moore@DENIn this shootout, he's the best Saints WR without Champ Bailey on him.
Malcom Floyd@CLEHe'll have Joe Haden on him, but he's been beaten before.
Steve Smith@CHIDid you see what the Bears did to Calvin Johnson? Don't play him. You're welcome.
Mike Williams@MINDespite the disappointing last week, I stand by what I said about him emerging.
Jeremy KerleyMIASanchez throws his way a lot and Sean Smith is FAR from a shutdown.
Nate WashingtonINDHe's really been reliable as of late and it wouldn't be shocking if he kept it up.
Santana Moss@PITHe may not be a starter but he's produced in consecutive games now.
Brandon GibsonNEThey'll have to throw a lot and he's the best WR on the team right now.
Brandon StokleyNOI wrote about him in this week's Waiver View. He's dependable.
Stephen HillMIASee: Kerley, Jeremy. Expect just a little less.
Darrius Heyward-Bey@KCHuge downfield threat against an undersized secondary.
Michael Crabtree@ARII can't expect a lot out of anyone that is being covered by Patrick Peterson.
Titus YoungSEAHe's shown production in spurts here and there but nothing consistent.
Chris GivensNEHe's second in the league in catches more than 30 yards downfield, behind just Torrey Smith.
Donnie Avery@TENShould get a lot of looks as the Titans only defend the TE well and nothing else.
Eddie Royal@CLEHe's emerged as a dependable guy in Vincent Brown's absence.
Cecil Shorts@GBHe's really the only Jaguars receiver that's done anything.
Andre RobertsSFIt's the Niners but he still gets a solid amount of targets his way.
Brian Hartline@NYJCould get it done but Cromartie usually plays well against the Fins.
Emmanuel SandersWSHHe's the fourth option, but against the abysmal 'Skins secondary, that may might be good enough.
Kendall WrightINDThey're on a WR carousel in Tennessee. I think he's scheduled to be "the guy" next week. Wait, yeah...whatever.
Brandon LaFell@CHII think I just needed a 50th person here. Don't bother.
