Runningbacks have been a little tricky this year but we're starting to get some clarity and I guess better late than never. Best of luck as you start your playoff run, or as you continue to make your playoff push.
| Rank | Runningback | Opp | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|
Trent Richardson | KC | Plenty of opportunity in low-scoring affair. Also, he's a damn monster.
Adrian Peterson | CHI | Thank god this blog didn't start before the season, because I'd be in tons of trouble for telling people not to draft him.
Frank Gore | MIA | I know they're great against the run but they haven't faced an offensive line this good this year.
Alfred Morris | BAL | I'm predicting a HUGE game out of Alf. The former FAU Owl will get to feast on Raven on Sunday.
Doug Martin | PHI | If this game stays close, watch for Martin to tear it up once again.
Arian Foster | @NE | He'd be higher but I just think the Pats run defense is actually pretty solid.
Chris Johnson | @IND | This is a great matchup for him. He wouldn't choke during fantasy playoffs, would he?
Ray Rice | @WSH | For some reason the Ravens like to forget he exists until it's 4th-and-29.
Jamaal Charles | @CLE | He'd also be higher, but I have too much respect for D'Qwell Jackson and that underrated Browns D.
Marshawn Lynch | ARI | Tough to sit him against anyone, and the Cards defense does give up rushing yards if anything.
Steven Jackson | @BUF | Bills give up the most fantasy points to opposing RBs.
CJ Spiller | STL | He's been great lately and the Rams are better against the pass than they are against the run.
Ahmad Bradshaw | NO | The second this turns into a shootout, he becomes useless. BUT, he'll do damage from what few carries he gets.
DeMarco Murray | @CIN | He's clearly back and ready to go and this isn't a shut-down squad.
Matt Forte | @MIN | He'll be the focus of the offense this week. Let's just hope he take advantage of it.
Mikel Leshoure | @GB | Off to a great first year and that should continue against the Packers.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis | DAL | Tough to sit after these past few outings but this is a pretty solid defense.
Michael Turner | @CAR | I think he has a huge game. Falcons might take it easy with the passing game and Panthers run D stinks.
Bryce Brown | @TB | The defensive front for the Bucs is nasty. Be wary when riding this high.
Stevan Ridley | HOU | Had a good fantasy game with a tough matchup last week but this is a little tougher.
Knowshon Moreno | @OAK | Starting for just about any fantasy owner this week. Great matchup, plus tough to pass on Thursday nights.
Shonn Greene | @JAC | He's proven to be not-so-crappy and if score stays close, could be a high-volume day.
Fred Jackson | STL | He'd be near the top but since he's second fiddle now to Spiller, it's tougher to gauge what he'll do.
Montell Owens | NYJ | Favorable matchup but I literally know nothing about this guy besides his name, position and which team he plays for.
Darren McFadden | DEN | Who knows how much he'll play or when he'll get hurt again plus it's a god-awful matchup.
Vick Ballard | TEN | Great matchup against the Titans but there's always the risk that Donald Brown breaks back out.
Jonathan Dwyer | @SD | Chargers run defense has been really underrated this year and there could be a better option for you.
Ryan Mathews | PIT | They've been too good and he's just not a consistent star.
Darren Sproles | @NYG | He's too inconsistent. It's either a big game, or a donut.
Reggie Bush | @SF | He'll struggle against this team but there are worse options.
DeAngelo Williams | ATL | Pretty nice matchup compared to what he's had lately. At least there's a chance for something big.
Jacquizz Rodgers | @CAR | Panthers give up the most receiving yards in the NFL to opposing RBs. That's the name of J-Rod's game.
Beanie Wells | @SEA | This isn't a complete shutdown unit so there's always a chance. A slim one, but a chance nonetheless.
Michael Bush | @MIN | With the big Viking defensive front, the Bears could power run more than usual.
Marcel Reece | DEN | Raider backfield is rough with McFadden coming back, I might advise avoiding both.
Bilal Powell | @JAC | It's a great matchup and Greene won't get every carry.
Pierre Thomas | @NYG | Not sure how safe the rest of your team is, but they had better be studs if you're risking this.
Isaac Redman | @SD | Good luck. That whole situation is a mess.
Daniel Thomas | @SF | They may get worried about Reggie Bush's performance and that could benefit Thomas.
Justin Forsett | @NE | He's a spark plug on any given play so it doesn't take a whole lot of carries for the upside play.
Alex Green | DET | He may be starting, but who are we kidding? It's a pass-first, pass-second, pass-third team.
Joique Bell | @GB | Packers are an average run defense and with Bell, it doesn't take much to get it done.
LaRod Stephens-Howling. | @SEA | If Wells struggles, if Skelton struggles, and when the O-line struggles, the Cards could turn to the Hyphen's services.
Felix Jones | @CIN | Murray's role certainly depletes Jones's worth, but he's back to the "maybe he takes a screen to the house" role.
Donald Brown | TEN | He just hasn't been doing as much as Vick Ballard has even though the carries are nearly split.
Mark Ingram | @NYG | Sproles is back, so Ingram's back to the bench for most of the game.
Ronnie Hillman | @OAK | I'm still as pissed as you are about how badly he filled in for McGahee. Lost that job before he got it.
David Wilson | NO | Well, everyone seems to hate him, especially Tom Coughlin, but hey, he could run back a kick.
Shane Vereen | HOU | He's always made the most of his limited action and that shouldn't change.
Ben Tate | @NE | Not sure how to motivate those starting Tate. Umm...you never know?
