Week 13's Waiver View:
Colin Kaepernick, QB - San Francisco 49ers - He's not that good. Everyone calm down. The Bears changed their entire defensive scheme, essentially selling out to stop the run, and the Niners took advantage of that. The 49ers have the best offensive line in the league. They have the best defense in the league. They have arguably the best rushing attack in the league, maybe second behind Houston. Anyone can succeed in that system. The reason he's on here and Alex Smith never was, is because he can run. Which is nice since, again, he has a top-of-the-league offensive line. I hate him. But that doesn't mean he won't be great for your fantasy team. This is where those who can't differ fantasy football and real football become entrapped in a player who's causing them to be delusional. Temper your real-life expectations, but he's going to put up monster fantasy lines.

Chad Henne, QB - Jacksonville Jaguars - When he signed with the Jags, I shared my thoughts with a co-worker, saying, "what if Gabbert gets hurt, or the Jags get smart and bench him, and Henne comes in, overachieves, and takes them to a 6-seed? Would that be THAT crazy? AFC's pretty weak this year..."
Needless to say, he laughed, and then gave me a weird look when he saw that I wasn't laughing. That is all.

Bryce Brown, RB - Philadelphia Eagles - Assuming McCoy is out again, and assuming Nick Foles still stinks, Brown will continue to be a fantasy star so long as the fumbles don't get out of hand (no pun intended). Maybe not this week against Dallas, but he has some nice fantasy playoff-time matchups against Tampa and Cincy and I know Andy Reid refuses to run sometimes, but even he won't be able to ignore Brown's emergence coinciding with Foles's mishaps.

Beanie Wells, RB - Arizona Cardinals - He surprised even me with his fantasy performance this past week. I suggested picking him up in last week's Waiver View, but only to stash him for this week. It's a great matchup against the Jets who may be the only team in worse shape than the Cardinals. And with Ryan Lindley continuing to start (if you're asking yourself who that is, you're making my point exactly), the Cardinals should look to run more, especially since the Jets won't be running up the score like many teams have against the Cardinals. This offensive line is AWFUL in pass protection, but it's a pretty decent run-block squad.
Ownership: 58.7% ESPN, 48% Yahoo!, 52.8% NFL
DeAngelo Williams, RB - Carolina Panthers - He gets the start and the bulk of the carries in the absence of Jonathan Stewart. That Carolina backfield usually has a giant "STAY AWAY" sign on it, but at least this sort of clears up some of the uncertainty. Not a terrible grab as he has Kansas City and Atlanta up next.
Ownership: 69.8% ESPN, 45% Yahoo!, 68.5% NFL
Rashad Jennings, RB - Jacksonville Jaguars - Only bother with this guy if you're truly desperate. This Jags RB situation might be worse than the Cardinals' QB situation. Chances are, since I plugged Jennings this week, Parmele will have another nice week, so maybe take my words as a reverse jinx of sorts.

Cecil Shorts & Justin Blackmon, WRs - Jacksonville Jaguars - They were here as a package last week and it's going to stay that way. With Henne under center, they just have far more opportunity to succeed than with someone who's afraid to play QB. They've shown it, and they'll continue to so long as Gabbert's out.

Ryan Broyles, WR - Detroit Lions - He's emerged to say the least. This week he'll get the terrible Colts secondary and a quarterback in Matthew Stafford who's finally getting everything together. With Titus Young still hampered, Broyles should continue to succeed as a fill-in.
Ownership: 1.3% ESPN, 23% Yahoo!, 6.6% NFL
Pierre Garcon, WR - Washington Redskins - It's pretty clear that he's good to go. And to be honest, he'd better be after all of that damn rest. He's been dropped in a ton of leagues but it's obvious RGIII is going back to how things looked in the preseason when Garcon seemed to be the only WR he threw to. This is no shutdown secondary either, so there's a big game brewing for Garcon.
Ownership: 60.1% ESPN, 56% Yahoo!, 65.9% NFL
Martellus Bennett, TE - New York Giants - He's so up-and-down but when they played the Redskins earlier this year, he had 5 catches for a season-high 79 yards. The 'Skins give up the third-most fantasy points per game to opposing TEs. It all looks good, just got to hope the good Giants show up.
